What is SUPAFLY?
Why is this important?
-
SupaFly uses movement as a healthy outlet for stress, emotions, and self-expression, helping dancers process feelings, regulate their bodies, and build resilience through Hip Hop–based practices.
-
Through choreography, freestyle, and performance, dancers develop body awareness, self-trust, and leadership skills while learning to show up authentically and take pride in who they are.
-
Classes and performances create shared experiences that foster teamwork, mutual respect, and belonging, allowing dancers to build meaningful relationships while contributing to a supportive, culture-driven community.

How does DANCE supports one’s mental health?
At SupaFly, dance is more than movement.
In 2024, the British Medical Journal published a large-scale systematic review and network meta-analysis examining how different types of physical activity impact symptoms of depression.
Analyzing 218 randomized controlled trials with over 14,000 participants, the study found that exercise is an effective treatment strategy for depression, with dance emerging as one of the most impactful and enjoyable forms of physical activity for mental health.
This research directly supports SupaFly’s approach of using Hip Hop–based movement to support emotional well-being, build confidence and create spaces where individuals can show up as their authentic selves.
